The Advanced Controls Co-Op will be engaged in multiple technology areas within the vehicle dynamics domain! Also, there is the opportunity to become involved in propulsion system control activities. Our team develops new SW and control solutions for our future platforms using advanced controls techniques (grey-box modeling, data driven controls, etc.). You will be involved in Simulink based algorithm development, testing, and vehicle calibration. You will gain exposure to complex control systems, vehicle safety and compliance and relevant verification activities! In addition, you will work with a diverse team of engineers to support existing activities and own all aspects of a smaller project.
Key Responsibilities:
Support in the develop control algorithms
Conduct testing of prototype and production software (simulation, bench, and in-vehicle)
Investigate and support continuous improvement activities associated with production programs
Participate in the day-to-day engineering activities in order to gain an understanding of the vehicle development process
Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd and 4th year), Master's, or PhD (Preferred) degree in one of the following areas: Mechatronics , Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 12-month term (3 consecutive semesters) starting January 2024
Have a valid Full Class G Ontario Driver's Licence, or equivalent Canadian out-of-province licence
Basic electrical and control systems knowledge
Experience and working level knowledge with Simulink
Curiosity about vehicle controls and future vehicle technology
