As an Agile Coach focusing on supporting Product Management within the Digital Business Team (DBT) at General Motors (GM) you will help drive our organization's Agile transformation by providing coaching, mentoring, and training support to our teams and leaders across Lines of Business, Products, Channel, and Solution teams, specifically in support of Product Management and Strategy. You will partner with a group of other Agile Coaches as well as Technical Agile Coach's to provide support across multiple Value Streams and help our teams figure out what to stop, continue or start doing – all toward the goal of driving Agile Transformation in a key area of GM's business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands on strategic coaching, consulting, and support to Product Management team(s) in adopting an agile mindset and practices with a focus on growing the capabilities of the team
  • Coach, teach, and mentor leaders and teams to develop the needed agile events, product vision, strategy, objective(s), roadmap(s), and OKRs
  • Facilitate analysis of multiple agile approaches and help the team consider what they will adopt to serve their unique needs
  • Build positive relationships with several different groups across the organization
  • Empower teams to come to consensus to act or make changes as needed
  • Mentor teams, individuals and leadership in teamwork skills and the application of agile principles
  • Enable organizational agility by creating the conditions and alignment for change
  • Foster a continuous improvement environment to build high-performing, agile teams
  • Coach teams through observation and feedback as well as through role-based training in Agile and Product Management
  • Effect change at all levels and across large numbers of teams/products
  • Encourage and empower teams to collaborate, take ownership, be transparent and continually strive for improvement
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in Value Stream and make recommendations to improve
  • Identify knowledge gaps within a team or teams and develop or utilize existing Agile trainings to fill those gaps
  • Deliver role-based product training, workshop for leadership of each LOB, agile team and enable employee engagement
  • Train individuals and/or cross functional teams to define and understand their Products and associated Value Streams
  • Model continuous education by keeping pace with industry and best practices
  • Help develop specific training materials
  • Additional Description

    Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a related function
  • Digital Product Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience coaching and/or consulting
  • Effective team player, capable of partnering with a team of strong, experienced coaches
  • Experience with and understanding the Agile Manifesto, principles and how to help teams, including Product Managers, through their Agile transformation
  • Expert communicator – both written and verbal
  • Experience creating and presenting concepts and recommendations to all levels of the team
  • Able to operate in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to remain flexible and respond to organizational and/or business change
  • Ability to take direction and run with it
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related certification: ACP and/or CSM and/or SPC and/or ICP-ACC
  • Teaching or instructing experience
  • Available to travel to Warren Michigan up to 4 times a year
  • Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $72,432 to $115,709. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
