Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. 2-3 times per/week in the office is required.

Buick is embarking on a brand evolution as we seek to establish our new visual brand identity and transition to our EV future. Our family of stylish and innovative SUVs are driving significant increases in Opinion and Consideration and attracting a new type of buyer to the brand. Product launches and strategically important communication platforms will roll out in 2023 with even more on the horizon. It's an exciting time to contribute to the Buick brand's continued success.

The Assistant Advertising Manager will support Buick's Brand Advertising Manager and work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Agency Partners, and Central Teams to assist in the development of communications that drive Brand Opinion, Relevancy and Purchase.

This person will be responsible for assisting in the development of brand strategy and consumer-facing communications. As it relates to creative development, the assistant advertising manager will support the Buick Brand and Content Manager with briefing, concepting, testing, and measurement. In the vehicle-marketing space, the assistant manager will be tasked with working closely with marketing counterparts to support launch readiness initiatives. Finally, this person will act as the advertising lead in the development and distribution of key vehicle messaging and further provide support to ensure Buick's new visual identity is accurately represented throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of agency workflow, creative development and measurement and research practices. Candidate should have a strong command of project management and experience in strategically planning, developing, and approving a high volume of creative with speed and accuracy. Furthermore, candidate should be a creative-thinker who strives for innovation in their respective areas. Success in this role will involve close collaboration with media, website, and marketing counterparts and will work directly with the SME assistant advertising managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support brand and vehicle line strategy by participating in launch readiness activities including TMEC, consumer research, and vehicle positioning
  • Support creative development and project management including writing briefs, reviewing concepts, structuring research/testing, and providing creative measurement Lead development and distribution of vehicle line key messaging, why-buys, and asset contact sheets

  • Act as lead for brand and creative measurement templates, requests, and report outs

  • Serve as the point of contact for Visual Identity roll-out to ensure the Buick brand is represented accurately across the organization
  • Collaborate with advertising SMEs to ensure overall brand and vehicle alignment

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 4+ years of experience in Advertising, Media or Marketing. Agency experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of brand and creative measurement and research practices
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and provide thoughtful creative feedback
  • Strong understanding of the ever-changing digital eco-system and a curiosity for new approaches and technology
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and project management skills
  • Proven cross-team collaboration
  • A self-starter with the ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
