Description

Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.

This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week

About the Role:

As part of the Cloud Center of Excellence team, the Azure Security Architect is a technical leadership position which requires leading the definition and implementation of Microsoft Azure security technology direction, standards, and policy across GM business units or multi-functional IT organizations. This position is responsible for building and maintaining the Microsoft Azure security posture, integrating into DevSecOps processes, and automating controls.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading strategic security goals for the Cloud Center of Excellence.
  • Designing and implementing Secure Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Solutions (covering Identity, Networking, Storage, Containers, etc.)
  • Consult with application teams to direct the usage of Azure aligned with GM security standards.
  • Ensuring application implementations are compliant with GM Cloud security standards.
  • Ongoing Assessment of GM's security posture, analysis of issues and development of recommendations for their resolution.
  • Designing and implementing of Azure Security Controls in the Cloud environment
  • Develop catalog of reference Azure architecture patterns to be used across the GM application landscape.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles and architectures
  • Ability to translate complex security concepts to executives, while providing engineers the information they need to implement these concepts
  • Be an evangelist for modern cloud architecture patterns within GM. Advising and leading GM application architects enabling them to migrate their applications to Azure.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline
  • Microsoft Azure Architecture qualifications
  • 8 years experience developing/deploying IT systems in a professional/corporate environment
  • 5 years experience leading architecture for project teams and project implementation in specific technology space such as Java, .NET, etc.
  • 3 years in a Security Function
  • Experience in DevSecOps
  • Experience with CI/CD practices
  • Experience in Programming & Scripting
  • Azure Experience
  • Knowledge of Cyber Defense Operations in Azure
  • Knowledge of Programming patterns.
  • Knowledge of Database Design/ Querying
  • Experience creating design documentation and communicating using diagrams such as Flow Charts, Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Swim lanes, PowerPoint Presentations, animations, etc
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in IT related discipline
  • 15 years experience developing/deploying IT systems in a professional/corporate environment
  • 10 years experience leading architecture for project teams and project implementation in specific technology space such as Java, .NET, etc.
  • Experience in architecting for security and identity
  • 5 years in a Security Function
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification
  • Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert
