In this role you will be working in a fast pace, high tech environment. The Battery Cell Assembly Process Engineer will provide extensive support to the Ultium cell plants for both present and future battery cell generations. The position will interface with Ultium personnel and GM Global ME leadership on cell assembly technology. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on leading edge technology as part of the electrification of transport. Primary location Warren, MI with regular travel to Ohio and/or Tennessee.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical expert for Battery Cell Assembly processes including development and approval of cell assembly equipment specifications
Develop and maintain relationships with Ultium partners and support the Ultium joint venture plant
Work with equipment suppliers on design, build, validation and start-up of cell assembly equipment
Optimization of cell manufacturing line layout
Support implementation of GM safety specifications and equipment safety reviews
Develop assembly strategies for implementation of next generation battery cell technology
Interface with leadership and support development of battery cell manufacturing strategies
Development of engineering documentation
Utilize a considerable amount of creativity and initiative, as well as a high level of independent judgment
