the development/implementation of manufacturing processes that support the

The RESS Launch Coordinator will report to the RESS Launch Lead and be
responsible for the development & execution of launch deliverables. The
position will require extensive relationship building to foster integration
with the execution engineering, product engineering, central manufacturing
engineering and the core plant operations teams. The person to fill this
position should be a self-starter who can determine their own best direction
with minimal external input. They need to be able to look ahead to problem
solve future operational issues and have an ability to remove roadblocks on
their own or orchestrate a team to do so. The RESS Launch Coordinator will
supervise core team members and be required to lay the foundation for a highly
engaged team delivering BIQ IV results.
Roles & Responsibilities
Liaison to the RESS Area Manager for the Launch Team issues.
Leads the daily RESS launch activities with support from the Plant
Planner, Departmental Business Manager, Plant Trainers, and other critical
plant personnel.
Leverages plant operations knowledge, relationship building, and drive for
results to efficiently execute tasks.
Engaged in program from equipment install to Launch Team Release (LTR).
Engage with the PDT, CIT, Peer Reviews, and MIT.
Actively engaged with the Engineering counterparts to ensure the Execution
& Process Engineering requirements are met and executed for turnover to
the RESS plant team.
Assist launch team members in the development of the initial/final STS and
TIS
Coordinates the interaction between General Assembly, Body Shop, Material
& Quality for resolution of RESS issues
Integral member of the problem resolution teams in RESS, assisting in
resolution of build issues in RESS while ensuring that the 7- diamond
problem solving process is being utilized.
Executes the change management process for internal process control
(tooling, material, etc.)
Works with the GSC Launch team to develop plans for Production Trial Runs,
Engineering Tryouts, Engineering Work Orders, etc. during the launch
process
Works with GSC Launch team to understand all Temporary Engineering Work
Orders, reworks and part substitutions for their impact and timing,
providing production breakpoints on production issues.
Provides Leadership during the Daily issues meeting with Manufacturing and
Engineering.

Launch Lead and the RESS Area Manager
Communicates all quality issues to Quality Systems team and provides
critical data for resolution
Implements resolutions to address quality issues that arise
Employs methods of operating to prevent quality issues from occurring
Holds team accountable to achieve manpower targets
Process Validation:
Ensures that the RESS manufacturing validation plan supports the acceleration schedules and comprehends the plant build restrictions
Coordinates builds with RESS floor, schedules subassemblies and bodies in support of the launch plan, with emphasis on Safety, Quality and Through-Put
Drives ergonomics issue resolution by ensuring that RESS ergonomic reviews
are occurring, and corrective actions are developed
Provide leadership and Production input to GMS implementation, pulling on
additional support as required
Provide Production input to the RESS layout development and operator
station layout, utilizing established verification process, error
proofing, and operator certification by start of manufacturing validation
build
Plan & demonstrate production process control plans & preventive
maintenance tasks to demonstrate BIQ IV at MVBs
Monitors builds, communicating daily requirements while tracking
performance. Working with others to ensure weld destruct and dimensional
plans are followed
Education & Training
Identifies and develops the RESS training and workshop plan and ensures
its execution. Provide build direction and training to the production
operators.
Implements lessons learned from previous programs and captures lessons
learned during the program execution.
Ensure active participation during the Process Verification Builds (slow
builds), concentrating on 6 Pillars of quality with a BIQ IV focus
Coordinates daily activity of launch personnel.
Establishes roles and responsibilities for the RESS Launch Team.
Selects and supervises the RESS Team for Pre-Production build events.
Exhibit active participation as a member of the Launch Team and attends
all Launch Team meetings, including the daily build startup/wrap-up
meetings, and production meetings.
Responsible to forecast and coordinate the necessary plant resources
required during the launch (E.G. skilled trades, checkers, and production
operators).
Input into pre-production budget requirements: resources, materials,
training aids, etc.
Deliverables
Flawless execution of the program launch deliverables within RESS.
RESS Capable to support Workplace Safety System initiatives/requirements
Sustainable RESS operation performing in accordance to BIQ IV metrics.
Build positive culture with a highly engaged team

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience related to production launch
Production/maintenance group leader experience (RESS experience
preferred)
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
High level of organization skills & ability to efficiently coordinate
build activities
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusually difficult
