In this role, you will maintain, analyze, solves problems, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Additionally, you will document, maintain, upgrade, replace hardware and software systems. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to operations affecting information technology in GM's business process areas.

You will need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. You will be able to exhibit a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being a subject matter expert
  • Monitors service delivery and health of the environment
  • Prepares, analyzes, summarizes and presents data in formats appropriate for the decision process (oral, written reports, presentations)
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group
  • Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors
  • Being Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Training, education and/or experience in Computer Operations. Other experience in computer hosting, Data center operations, etc.

    Responsibility:

  • Provide world-class IT Support to support a smooth technology experience for our users both in our physical office and remotely
  • Partner with our Onboarding and Offboarding teams to run new hire onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Manage physical inventory, ensuring we have what we need on hand
  • Work to improve and promote the use of self-help materials for our users
  • Keeping up to date with advancement and best practices in IT administration
  • Creating and removing user accounts across multiple cloud platforms and performing access control
  • Ability to support users across a variety of cloud platforms
  • Proven ability to work incidents and requests as needed in an ITIL-based support model
  • Implement automation wherever possible for common IT activities
  • Support printers, video conferencing, local network and other physical IT systems
  • Support the implementation of new physical systems, cloud products or other IT projects as required
  • Local liaison between BrightDrop users and GM IT as needed
  • Support new office deployments as they come online
  • Lead other IT resources and contractors through projects and other support as needed
  • Some travel may be required
  • Competencies & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience and certifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting a cloud-based IT environment for end users.
  • Experience writing high quality documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information to various non-technical people
  • Experience as an administrator with most of the platforms below:

  • Slack

  • Google Workspace
  • Azure cloud services/Azure AD
  • Freshservice
  • Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
  • Smartsheet
  • Lucidchart
  • JAMF
  • Windows and Mac laptop support including building/imaging
  • General Network troubleshooting
  • Onboarding and offboarding activities and related systems
  • Video Conference systems support
  • Microsoft Teams and Office 365

  • Expert Troubleshooting skills

  • Experience supporting technical and non-technical users remotely and hands-on in a high-velocity environment
  • High-level of attention to detail and be a self-starter with ability to work independently, multi-task, and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Must be able to be onsite 5 days a week in our Warren, MI office.
