In this Senior Engineering Manager role, you will lead and grow a strong team of DevOps and SRE engineers, act as the enabler and connector for customers internally and externally, and ensure the reliability, scalability and availability of our platform infrastructure and systems for BrightDrop's new electrified last-mile delivery ecosystem. This role provides a unique opportunity where you will be enabling all of the BrightDrop software products, and truly steering the future of BrightDrop's DevOps and SRE practices, CI/CD, automation, cloud platform, and infrastructure-as-code practices. What you get to do in this role:
Recruit, hire, scale, and develop an amazing team of DevOps and SRE engineers
Provide guidance to the engineering team on architectural directions that will provide highly available, performant, and scalable infrastructure for our enterprise customers
Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability and simplicity
Lead engineering team on high quality and timely execution and delivery of software services
Collaborate across various engineering teams, product, and other cross- functional stakeholders to effectively deliver the best solution to internal and external customers
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in managing DevOps and SRE engineers
7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles, with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure (AWS Azure or GCP only) and automation
Extensive experience building CI/CD pipelines
Experience with cloud security
Experience with managing enterprise level cloud infrastructure budgets
Experience scaling native cloud infrastructure at an enterprise level
Experience hiring top talent, building diverse and inclusive teams, foster a culture of healthy work environment that is both supportive and challenging
A genuine enjoyment of learning about how things work, with the ability to ask engineers good questions about architecture and product decisions
Ability to work well cross-functionally, and navigate through ambiguity
Ability to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
Extreme customer focus, committed to investing in partnerships with other engineering teams to establish empathy and understand their use-cases
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering preferred
