Working in the procurement team in Traction within Motion business in Mount Olive, New Jersey, you will be deciding on and implementing plans for local sourcing to achieve business targets and assist regional and global sourcing initiatives. In this role, you will be assisting in the implementation, maintenance and compliance of procurement & logistics activities, applying and implementing standards, tools and processes to ensure good quality, on-time delivery, optimal costs and sustainability. This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is responsible for all the inbound materials management (sourcing, buying, expediting, supplier developing, Material Cost reductions).

Your responsibilities
  • Develops a commodity / supplier strategy for defined commodities is responsible for supplier evaluation, selection & assessment
  • Has a strong focus on material cost reduction, lead time reduction, supplier performance improvement along the complete supply chain
  • Supports other supply chain cost reduction activities, i.e. reduction of obsolete materials. Places and maintains purchase orders for materials within responsible commodities
  • Works independently with suppliers to manage on time deliveries. Works with suppliers to expedite or defer materials depending on changes in requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production plan. Direct accurate purchase order information in the SAP ( Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software) / ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
  • Maintains material master data such as lead times and order quantities. Plans and applies return to vendor process for rejected parts. Manages Engineering Change Orders for assigned materials
  • Run Supplier Performance KPI's (Key Performance Indicators​). Summarizes and reports all delivery issues on a regular basis. Organizes regular performance reviews with vendors
  • Your background
  • Bachelor degree and 2 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain OR Associate degree and 4 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain OR High School Diploma and 6 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain required
  • Experience with an ERP (Enterprise resource planning software) is required. SAP experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrates accountability, excellent written and oral communication skills as well as collaboration with teammates is required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills is required
  • Travel up to 5% is required
  • Technical understanding of procurement, strong customer focus and commitment as well as skills in supplier relationship management including negotiations experience is highly preferred
  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or APIC (Additional paid-in capital) certificate is highly preferred
