The successful candidate will be part of Network Development unit, reporting to the Construction, Footprint and Facilities Manager.
This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. It requires a person who can show proven ability in the planning and design, and project management / control of new and the enhancement of existing facilities.
Essential Requirments:
Ability to remotely coordinate with multiple teams in various multicultural locations;
Able to establish and maintain cross border contracts with 3rd party suppliers;
Ability to balance operational and commercial needs with regional legal requirements;
Develop and continuously refine on-site processes related to various, unique ones;
Resource management contract, including approving invoices and conducting an annual review of performance.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Construction Manager will play an integral role in the development and implementation of the EU network infrastructure and compliance;
This role will analyze and evaluate different sites scenarios and fit-out designs. In addition, this candidate must support the standardization of the technical and facility related processes and systems;
Responsible for overseeing construction engineering, planning, and design;
Negotiate contracts with vendors and present formal documentation for approval when required;
Ensure that contracts are fit for purpose, cost effective and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements;
Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals and coordination of partners;
Facilitate and team with others on due diligence evaluation and new opportunities
Ensure that contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets, addressing and ensuring the correction of under-performance issues
Support contractors' work and help them to achieve higher performance levels.
Qualifications
B.Sc of Civil or Engineering or Architecture, or Country equivalent
Project management, construction, or engineering experience with a proven track record of managing both new builds and the enhancement of existing warehouses/ logistics buildings
Construction market experience in one or more EU countries
Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation
Experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts in EU zone
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Desirable:
Experience of the operational set up and opening of a large retail site
Fluency in German, both written and spoken
