The Role
The Container Program Manager will lead the planning and execution of packaging plans for future vehicle programs. Related activities include the on-time delivery of efficiently designed containers at the lowest cost for Current/Future Launch Programs (Vehicle). Work involves a great deal of integration and initiative with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Vehicle assembly plants, Suppliers and Program Teams.
What You'll Do
Represent the containers planning team as the single point of contact with the program teams
Represent Global Containers in various external venues including the Program Execution Team (PET), Manufacturing Integration Team (MIT), Material Launch Readiness Team (MLRT) meetings.
Manage container planning activities to GVDP requirements including coordinating and managing integrated container fabricators in the design, development, production and deployment of specialized containers
Manage overall container program life-cycle definition, finances, timing and readiness.
Conduct container concept and sample buyoff workshops.
Identify / Implement cost reduction opportunities.
Total Enterprise Cost business cases relative to container investment, logistics CPU impact and material piece price
Container Program Financial AR (Capital / Expense) estimating, forecasting, spending and approval responsibility.
Pre-Launch management activities including PFEP (plan for every part) ownership, supply chain container system sizing and supporting supplier readiness.
Manage post-Launch container activities (quality, EWO's, annuals. MCE's).
Respond to critical capacity studies, resolve container related capacity issues / resolution.
Support advance container planning (AVDC) group with effective Post-VPI data transfer activities including responses to Manufacturing Planning Studies (MPS) and Change Requests (CR).
Analyze, interpret, evaluate, plan and make recommendations on programs and policies relative to total enterprise cost analysis.
Make presentations to all levels of management and other organizations within GM as needed to provide program updates.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor degree required in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or 4+ years working experience in a related field such as supply chain, Manufacturing, etc in lieu of degree required
2+ years related working experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others in a remote work environment
Knowledge of Manufacturing, Equipment & Processes within stamping, body shop, General Assembly, and Propulsion.
Organized and self-motivated
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Knowledge and understanding of Corporate/unit policies and procedures
High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
Basic knowledge of method engineering techniques and manufacturing processes
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Previous Launch or Plant experience
