Your responsibilities
  • Crane Commissioning Specialist positions offered by ABB Inc. (San Diego, CA). Analyze, test, troubleshoot and evaluate entire Optical Character Recognition (OCR) data network systems for compliance to site specific drawings and functional specifications, while also ensuring best industry standards of installation method and function. Perform direct and/or remote as required for installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of ABB OCR data processing systems to complete project closure obligations on time and on budget. Prepare technical documentation for in-house procedures and formal customer reporting and review such documents for accuracy to project specific requirements and company policies.

  • Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in marine engineering, electrical engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in position offered or 4 years of experience installing, servicing, testing and commissioning electrical and automation systems for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) including cameras, radars, sensors, illuminators, ground loops, kiosks, servers, printers, switches and computers. Also requires 4 years of experience: performing on-site project management including participating in kickoff meetings, communicating with end-users, and providing technical sales support to complete installation and repair; preparing and presenting project documentation; ensuring projects are on- time and within budget; surveying and analyzing existing electrical or automation equipment for crane, gate and rail modernization projects; and performing SQL database administration. In lieu of a bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience as stated, employer will accept 6 years of experience as stated. Must possess TWIC or ability to obtain TWIC upon hire. Requires up to 75% travel, including weekends and holidays. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
