This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 times per week.

We use modern platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), and databases (PostgreSQL). Location: Warren, MI is preferred but will consider candidates residing in Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, or Chandler, AZ

The Cyber Security Project Manager is responsible for leading new and innovative software projects that are designed to reduce risk that could be exploited by cyber criminals and keep GM secure. Our project managers work in highly collaborative environments working with many cross functional teams to plan, test and deploy improved security measures and tools. Our projects span across many subject areas related to zero trust adoption, protecting manufacturing, intelligence-driven/threat detection, and improving GM's third- party ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing projects on time and meeting all business and technical requirements

  • Performing project management tasks to ensure scope, schedule, cost, and quality goals are met

  • Collaborating with senior leadership, product owners, and stakeholders to define project scope, charter, success criteria and deliverables in support of business goals

  • Developing project plans/sprints, deployment plans and schedules

  • Eliciting, evaluating, communicating and actively mitigating project risks

  • Identify and facilitate the resolution of issues

  • Maintaining accurate project records

  • Providing project status, progress on deliverables, and risks/issues to stakeholders and leadership

  • Follow GM's standard methodologies and process on all software development, deployment, and infrastructure projects

  • Prospective team members possess business insight, creativity, decision making skills, a drive for results, the ability to negotiate, the ability to develop strong peer relationships, and technical learning capability and focus.

  • Requirements:

  • 3-5 years Project Management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Ability to manage medium to large scale IT Information Cyber Security Projects

  • Proven in-depth knowledge of project management disciplines (e.g. PMBOK, Schedule, Scope, Quality, HR, Communications, Risk Management)

  • Experience in managing projects leveraging different software development methodologies such as: enable, waterfall, agile, scaled agile framework (SAFe)

  • Experience with PPM and Galileo

  • Strong experience interacting with business customers and managing expectations

  • Proven work experience working as a Project Manager with a successful project delivery record

  • Cyber Security knowledge

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Preferred Skills:

  • MS Azure/DevOps (ADO) experience

  • PMP certification
