Work Arrangement

Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.

The Director – Executive Speechwriter and Content Creator is responsible for content creation and speech writer to support communications efforts for GM's C-suite executives

The ideal candidate will have a diverse portfolio of written material that underscores their ability to convey complicated or nuanced topics in simple but elegant prose for a variety of audiences. This individual excels at working collaboratively with executives and colleagues alike and consistently delivers high-quality work even under tight time constraints.

What You'll Do

  • Work cross-functionally internally and externally to outline and develop impactful speeches, keynote presentations, talking points, social media posts, narratives, opinion pieces and other written materials for top C-Suite executives

  • Research and package content from internal and external resources to develop insightful and engaging written pieces that fit the authentic style of leadership

  • Proactively develop industry-leading content for delivery at high profile events

  • Partner with executive communications and other communications stakeholders on narrative, thought leadership and voice of the executive

  • Work closely with the communications team to identify new opportunities for executives and to maximize their impact

  • Help craft the development of social media content and draft posts

  • Deeply curious and can come up with thought-provoking ideas, turn copy on tight deadlines, and challenge us to be better.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications or Journalism

  • 10-15 years' experience speech writing for c-suite executive

  • A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
