Job Description
Summary
The Director, Program Management (Customer Facing) will oversee the Program Managers responsible for scheduling, delivery, and technical support of customer deliverables for the Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) organization. This position provides leadership support in proposals through delivery and technical support on government and/or commercial contracts, as well as ensures the team meets the goals of AV and the External customers focusing on time delivery and within budget. The Director, Program Management directs individuals who interface with all aspects of delivery of AV products and supports the customers long term.
Position Responsibilities
Ensures all long-term plans/goals for AV/SUAS are supported and executed for global customers
Selects, develops, and evaluates a team of individuals, ensuring they perform at the highest level
Ensures the successful accomplishment of departmental and corporate objectives/deliverables for the SUAS product line
Ensures Program managers develop, define, and execute product delivery plans to include meeting schedules, budgets, EAC's goals
Ensures the team supports AV global end users from contract award to after the contract ends
Identifies needed resources for efforts to execute and fulfill contracts
Monitors the product/program/project from RFP (request for proposal) or earlier through delivery, interfacing with both internal and external customers on all matters including technical requirements for the customer
Assigns and monitors work of program management staff, providing leadership, mentoring, and technical support and direction while performing similar tasks themselves
Supports preparation of budgets, bids, or contracts
Supports the development and implementation of policies, standards, or procedures for Program Management
Directs recruitment, placement, and evaluation of Customer Facing program management team
Works closely with Product Line Managers, Business Development, Contracts, Engineering, Finance, Production, QA, Training, Export Compliance and Air Worthiness as needed

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum of 7+ years of directly related program management experience or equivalent
Minimum of 5+ years' of people management of Program Managers or equivalent
Experience leading a major function or product area
Demonstrated experience in controls planning, staffing, budgeting, managing multiple priorities and recommending and implementing change
Requires regular interactions with peers/leaders and managers across all functions to identify and resolve issues
Leverages talent across the organization and across functions to achieve predictable program results
Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Utilizes leadership and negotiation skills to influence outcomes both with internal and external customers
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, workforce modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Advanced degree is preferred
Knowledgeable of functional or product strategy and long-term goals for others; demonstrated ability to implement strategy autonomously
Uses vision to think beyond the immediate situation, explores multiple potential paths, and adapts decision-making style based on the situational circumstances

The salary range for this role is:
$177,760 - $266,640
