Job Description

The Strategic Planning Operations (SPO) Leader is a critical and trusted leadership role as the strategic right-hand person to the VP, Data, Analytic & Insights and Digital Innovation. This Director will help drive strategic business planning, lead data governance and integration strategy, drive change management throughout the organization, execute enterprise-wide technology modernization initiatives while building and maintaining key relationships across the organization.

You will work closely with the VP Data, Analytics & Insights and Digital Innovation in the following ways:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and brainstorming partner.

  • Help lead and initiate change throughout the organization.

  • Help strategic ideas take root and provide early facilitation until a more formal project is established.

  • Think strategically while providing tactical support to implement ideas.

  • Proactively address pressing business issues that need immediate attention.

  • Provide independent, informed, unbiased insight including on the ground feedback.

  • Measure outcomes and drive accountability across the organization.

  • Collaborate with business partners and customers towards defined objectives.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Assets/Data Platforms/Integrations – building out scalable data platforms to bring data faster and more accessible to the business by creating data assets/products and providing robust integrations connecting our core systems.

  • Proactively escalate and resolve potential issues by calling them to the attention of the department head and identifying potential solutions.

  • Implement the appropriate tools and measurement systems to drive the adoption of technology strategy.

  • Work with leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress on Digital Transformation and metrics aligned with the Technology strategy.

  • Drive a cohesive approach aligning to Change Management activities including communications planning, training, and stakeholder management.

  • Build connections across all leadership of the organization.

  • Partner with the leadership team to define, prepare and communicate Technology organization plans, including quarterly, annual, and 3-year strategy, staffing, and development plans.

  • Support the VP in the preparation of board, executive committee, and presentations.

  • Collaborate and work with the innovation and digital portfolio team including the Results Delivery Office (RDO) around the portfolio of projects by owning the in-take and updates around the VP's projects.

  • Significantly improve overall department business acumen, operation, and project performance metrics.

  • Leverage dashboards and KPIs to foster transparency and communicate progress and performance.

  • Develop data-driven strategies for overcoming problems, enhancing performance, optimizing processes, increasing customer satisfaction, and driving innovation.

  • Communicate business goals so that team members can determine how analytics can help them achieve those goals.

  • Provide analytics leadership and expertise utilizing data management, technology, and modeling to address business needs.

  • Ensure that the company's data is clean, accurate, current, and reliable, deploy automation tools to obtain and process data from different sources.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, tools, techniques in data analytics.

  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience.

  • Deep domain knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP for data storage/computation.

  • Proven track record of successfully applying advanced analytical methods such as machine learning/artificial intelligence/natural language processing/etc. to solve business problems.

  • Experience in working with large-scale/big data/distributed systems such as Hadoop/Kafka/etc.

  • Understanding of data analytics and digital technology

  • Strong business acumen/problem-solving skills/critical thinking skills

  • Broad business experience driving execution and adoption of key strategic programs across large teams.

  • Ability to work in a flexible manner in line with the organization's objectives and willingness to undertake other duties as reasonably requested.

  • Experience with navigating and driving transformation in a large, complex environment.

  • Hands on operations experience

  • Experience developing dashboards demonstrating performance and progress to be presented to Senior Leaders

  • Project management skills and experience.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to motivate and influence leaders and teams without direct authority.

  • Financial acumen and ability to make data driven decisions.

  • Trusted professional with the ability to lead strong personalities and drive open items to effective resolution.

  • Ability to think and act creatively, championing and promoting new ideas that contribute to the goals of the organization and the department.

  • Dedicated professional who leads through ambiguity and independently runs projects with minimal direction.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence.

  • The Base Salary Compensation range for this role is $167,440 – $209,300 with annual target bonus of 20% of base salary, with opportunity for equity and stock grants.
