We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that
take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to
life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to
current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Our aim is to offer
affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them
safely to their destination. In 2011, we performed the first-ever crewed
flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous
public flights with our full-scale Volocopters (www. volocopter.com).
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Electrical Architect to join
our team. As the Electrical Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring
that the aircraft's electrical design meets certification and redundancy
requirements. You will play a critical role in defining the technology roadmap
and selecting the best design options through trade studies, simulations, and
evaluation of multiple technical solutions. Your strong communication skills
and technical expertise will be essential in driving the electrical design
towards optimal performance and compliance.
Your mission during this flight:
Define and drive the electrical architecture for aircraft systems,
considering certification and redundancy requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers,
electrical engineers, and avionics specialists, to develop electrical
design solutions that meet program objectives.
Lead trade studies, simulations, and evaluations of various technical
solutions to identify the most effective design options.
Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace standards and regulations, such
as DO-254, DO-178 and DO-160.
Collaborate closely with the certification team to ensure that the
electrical design meets all necessary certification requirements.
Drive the technology roadmap for electrical systems, keeping abreast of
emerging technologies and advancements in the field.
Collaborate with suppliers and partners to evaluate new components,
subsystems, and technologies for integration into the electrical design.
Work closely with system architects and project stakeholders to ensure
alignment with overall system architecture and program goals.
Conduct system-level analyses, including fault tolerance and redundancy
assessments, to ensure system safety and reliability.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to the
engineering team, ensuring the selection of optimal design solutions.
Develop and maintain documentation, including architectural
specifications, design guidelines, and technical reports.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to present
design options, solicit feedback, and address technical inquiries.
Collaborate with the test and verification team to define test plans and
ensure successful verification of the electrical design.
Check in your professional skills:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in electrical system design, architecture, and
integration within the aerospace industry.
In-depth knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations, such as DO-254
and DO-160, and their implications on electrical design.
