ABB's Electrification Global Markets organization is responsible for the go- to-market strategy and generating profitable growth for the Electrification Business Area. Our 10,000 strong commercial team represents the portfolio of all Electrification Business Area Divisions in over 100 countries. The role reports to the Manufacturing Unit Manager and is located in Florence, South Carolina. We are offering outstanding students the chance to join our team and help drive projects around Circularity and Sustainability. In the frame of a six-month internship (extension possible) in Electrification Service division , you will be able to put theory into practice by contributing to one or more of our projects focused on Sustainability. Your responsibilities
  • Explore sustainable alternatives across the Service org with a focus on the Florence, SC factory
  • Lead tamping down our sustainability programs and putting focus on streamlined and easy-to-use reporting system to track sustainability metrics
  • Recycling – broaden the existing program to minimize non-recycled waste
  • Power consumption – assist with LED light conversions program, motion switches, Heating and Cooling automation, and our Solar Energy project
  • Smart Shipping - circular use of packing materials, logistics, etc.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability and operations teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of our existing sustainability programs and initiatives
  • Identify key sustainability metrics related to recycling, power consumption, circular use of packing materials, and smart shipping logistics
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and industry benchmarks for sustainability reporting in the areas mentioned above
  • Evaluate and document findings and present test results to the team
  • Your background
  • Last-year student in Operations Management, Project Management, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of project management and the Electrical Industry market
  • Proficient in Excel and affinity for data analysis, including formulas, functions, pivot tables, and charts
  • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated mindset and ability to work independently
  • Highly conscientious individual with keen sense of responsibility
  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken
