The Role
Energy Conversion Systems (ECS) at General Motors is a fast-paced team that is working on developing technology. We're creating groundbreaking energy conversion systems (Batteries, Electric Motors, Electrification Electronics, Drive Units, Engines, and Transmissions) that provide industry leading performance for current and future GM Vehicles.
We are seeking a highly motivated, forward thinking, innovative, high performing people leader with a balance of strategic and tactical skills to join this dynamic environment and help move us forward to achieve GM's Zero, Zero, Zero vision. This position is for a first-level people leader and you would leading a team responsible for hardware design and release within ECS. This opening is for an Engineering Group Manager (EGM) in the Gears, Shafts, and Timing Drive area.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
7+ years of engineering experience in all phases of product development from initiation to launch
Experience leading projects and people (directly or indirectly), with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated organization and planning capability, with the ability to quickly identify and remove roadblocks and escalate as appropriate
Excellent conflict resolution skills, with proven capability to balance technical and business needs
Strong collaboration skills
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and support timely decision making
Ability to manage multiple assignments with a high level of composure and proven results
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Masters in Engineering or Management
Prior people leader experience
Knowledge of GM engineering processes, tools, and vehicle / propulsion development processes
Working knowledge of ICE propulsion, electric propulsion, or HV battery systems
DFSS black belt certification OR completion within 2 years of joining the company
