Description

The Lockport GPS Forward Program Team is looking for a talented and self- driven individual to fill the role of Execution Program Manager - Future Components. Our team is responsible for programs driving GMs future in both ICE and EV applications. This role includes managing individual project workload, as well as organizing team level projects. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions in a plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

Responsible for activities that include:

  • Describe program requirements, collaborates in the development of deliverables, supports the ongoing activities of workstream programs and identifies opportunities.
  • Consults with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering team members on project scoping.
  • Monitors project progress against the proposed plans including budgets, timelines, quality criteria and risk management.
  • Acts as an internal quality control check for all programs and projects to ensure they meet requirements
  • Possess and utilizes widespread company knowledge while serving as an expert on their workstream best practices.
  • Understands the many roles throughout the organization and how different positions collaborate with one another. Utilizes that knowledge to drive process improvements, and efficiencies.
  • Experience with commodities (raw material, metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, electronics, etc.)
  • Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
  • Additional Description

    Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or quality
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) disciplines and work experience on large-scale projects/programs with a successful delivery record
  • Expertise with project management software (e.g. Microsoft Azure, MS Project)
  • Practical experience leading and influencing internal team members and external partners/stakeholders with the ability to build strong, resilient relationships with stakeholders and be viewed as a partner
  • Preferred Experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
  • Education/ Training

    • Bachelors degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience
