Job Description:

The Lockport GPS Forward Program Team is looking for a talented and self- driven individual to fill the role of Supervisor - Process Engineering. Our team is responsible for programs driving GMs future in both ICE and EV applications. This role includes managing individual project workload as well as leading a small team of direct reports.

Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions in a plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibility is to 'get the process right' and do so by developing and delivering processes that enable a flawless launch. The supervisor will oversee equipment and project deliverables across future Manifold Fabrication programs. There will be great opportunities to carry technology trends and lessons learned from launches to future projects. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions with Product Engineering (PE), and Manufacturing Engineers (MEs).

Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities

  • Project management for large projects for Manifold Assembly Equipment
  • Support prototype builds through development of processes, tooling, and equipment all while working with product engineering to refine designs for manufacturing
  • Develop the production manufacturing process for new products
  • Design, build, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
  • Development and management of project timelines to meet production demands
  • Developing, maintaining, and documenting standard process (Bill of Process, Bill of Equipment, Template PFMEA, and Process Control Plans)
  • Providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced process engineers
  • CAP – goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews
  • Managing results and evaluating/coaching individual performance
  • Compensation planning and communication
  • Training and development planning
  • Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, and purchasing requests; planning vacation schedules

    Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional industry experience
  • General knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems
  • Preferred Experience

  • General knowledge of equipment procurement/purchasing process
  • General knowledge of metal forming processes including robotics and automation
  • Education/ Training

    • Bachelors degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience
