Description

Working under the direction of the Facility Area Manager, the FMR will be engaged in providing high quality customer service for maintenance, housekeeping, and environmental to a large population in a diverse manufacturing environment. The FMR will direct, coordinate, and act as liaison between plant leadership, operations personnel, the Facilities team and 3rd. party service providers. Typical functions include: building maintenance, administrative services, space management, housekeeping, tenant services, property maintenance and scrap removal. May also include activities associated with compressed air, chilled water, electricity, and other utilities including utility supply and engineering support. Environmental support activities including operations/support, regulatory, chemical/waste resource management, remediation, chemical risk management, design for the environment, pollution prevention and industrial hygiene interface. Work is performed in a centralized plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment.

Responsible for:

  • Service Agreement contract administration
  • Safety Leadership – GM 1638 and GM Health and Safety knowledge
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required to produce high-quality vehicles and parts
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of 3rd party resources
  • Daily customer service interface with plant employees and leadership
  • Ability to work off shifts, weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods, as required
  • Responsible for all facilities activities working with contract and GM resources
  • Assist Facilities engineers with facilities project management
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Preferred:

  • Technical knowledge and ability in facilities disciplines
  • Knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
  • Strong analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated customer service attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Demonstrated ability in project management skills
  • Education:

  • College degree with major in engineering/business, journeyman status, or equivalent demonstrated facilities management experience
  • Experience:

  • Minimum: 3 years' experience
