Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise contractors and engineering firms for compliance with project scope requirements.
  • Provide technical consultation, including analyzing facility mechanical system problems in the field, recommend solutions and manage until completion.
  • Provide mechanical estimating for developed scope of requirements for assigned projects.
  • Provide code and regulatory analysis and interpretation for the plant.
  • Ensure that construction and maintenance work meet mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Technical resource to facility maintenance for all projects and is a subject matter expert on facility technologies and processes.
  • Supervise physical condition of facilities: Buildings, roads, grounds, architectural structure.
  • Develop forecast, budgets, and programs for preserving assets.
  • Estimate, plan, and schedule projects and lead projects through completion and close out.
  • Develop, implement, and operate programs and projects including environmental utilities and decommissioning.
  • Handle and maintain construction drawings, layouts, and architectural drawings.
  • Review and determine applicable standards and methods for maintainability and serviceability.
  • Coordinate PDPM program.
  • Technical interface and feedback with other GM plants.
  • Conduct repair replacement analysis to align asset preservation with corporate and plant strategic goals and objectives.
  • Drive facilities asset disposal processes.
  • Champion multiple workplace safety performance standards.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years in facility mechanical systems engineering, HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, natural gas, mechanical piping, and fire suppression systems.
  • BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, building design codes and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage issues and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to work cross functionally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to operate in and modify AutoCAD drawings.
  • Familiar with preparing status reports, reading specifications and drawings, verifying contractor work and timeline management.
