We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that
take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life,
by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements
current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to
offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their
destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted
flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous
public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www. volocopter.com).
Your mission during this flight:
You are a Senior System engineer experienced in the development of complex
systems and you are passionate about making a difference in eVTOL aviation.
You have substantial experience in system architecture and requirements
engineering and a profound knowledge of the verification and validation
aspects in aviation, and in particular flight control system and pilot
controls. Within a multi-disciplinary team, you will coordinate between the
various teams and systems to ensure a successful certification of the pilot
control input concept of the Volocopter aircraft. You will shape the future of
how pilots control an eVTOL aircraft.
You will support with requirements management at flight control level with
a focus on pilot controls (including e.g. functional-, safety-,
regulatory-, environmental-, human factors, and performance requirements)
You will provide system-level expert for coordination and alignment with
various internal departments, flight testing but also certification
authorities
You will support with the generation of tests (including safety),
drawings, and design specifications
You will coordinate and manage an external supplier
Check in your professional skills:
Engineering degree (MSc or higher), preferably in aerospace engineering.
At least 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering for
complex systems (ideally aviation-related and in flight control system
and pilot controls)
Knowledge of aviation standards and guidelines (DO-160, DO-178, and
DO-254 in line with the ARP4754A, ARP4761)
Knowledge of certification processes (Part 21) and requirements under
EASA (CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, ideally SC-VTOL)
Highly skilled and effective in technical writing and communicating with
others
You have worked in V-Cycle and agile/scrum environments and have an
awareness of the methodologies and used tools (e.g. Jira, SAFe)
Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, SysML, etc.)
Ideally theoretical knowledge about flight testing, flight physics or
electrical systems
A structured way of working and a high sense of reliability and
accountability
Work mode: Ground (On-Site)
