- Support the GM General Auditor in ensuring the development and execution of a comprehensive program of audit work. This includes leading the development of an annual risk assessment and audit plan. - Annually lead a risk assessment and an audit plan provided to senior management and the audit committee - Understand the key components of risk within the business and ensure these areas are reviewed and tested as appropriate - Effectively utilize qualified Internal Audit resources both internal and co-source provider to meet audit obligations - Build and maintain effective executive and senior management relationships. Seen as a leader not only within GMAS but the overall company - Oversee the development of an effective Continuous Business Monitoring and Risk Assessment Process - Effectively communicate with management, co-source partners, external audit and the various operations. Ensure key findings and risks are communicated in a timely and effective manner. Ensures that the root cause is accurately identified for all issues and that management action plans are developed that address the root cause - Participate in major business initiatives and aggressively advise and assists the business on change initiatives - Hire, manage, train and develop internal audit staff - Ensure audit projects address GM and GMAS key strategic and business objectives based on understanding of appropriate business aspects, risks, potential fraud, performance requirements and control processes and systems of auditable activities - Participate in ongoing professional development - Demonstrate the STAR system and drives the utilization of the system through the full team - Develop a very strong understanding of GM operations worldwide - Serve as a brand ambassador for ‘One GMAS'
