Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be on-site on average 3 days per week

The Role

GM is seeking an outstanding individual to join our Finished Vehicle Logistics team to drive innovative in our network. This position offers a great career opportunity with a team focused on innovation, network optimization, and project management for North America and strategy globally. What You'll Do

  • Lead new projects by providing project direction, project management, timing, and requirements collaboration with business partners.
  • Develop business case with projected cost savings/volume impact.
  • Ensure project alignment and timing with other current and deployed initiatives across logistics.
  • Ensure regional/global input is received for all major decisions as it relates to logistics processes and systems
  • Access the market on standard methodologies.
  • Identify/mitigate risks in project support and timing issues.
  • Root cause issues to identify initiatives to improve process and cost competitiveness
  • Structure, clean, and ensure accuracy of data
  • Publish and share reports / findings
  • Work directly with IT on all production support issues/requests.
  • Ensure business processes are being followed which support assigned logistics systems globally.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of tools and reporting/KPI
  • Build and publish reports using standard reporting tools such as Microsoft BI with addition to SQL coding for advanced reporting.
  • Design and run network modeling tool
  • Develop long-term plans for inventory, pipeline, and capacity management
  • Additional Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years related work experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of business experience in finished vehicle logistics or transportation industry required
  • Ability to coordinate tasks and priorities across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and external partners
  • Expert in analytics tools with ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
  • Data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to drive long-term projects through to completion
  • What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Business Process Optimization/Re-engineering Experience.
  • Logistics software experience including utilizing or deploying IT solutions to meet business requirements.
  • External (outside of GM) experience with finished vehicle logistics
  • Network modeling
