In our System Drives Division, one of our strong added value is the ability to consult and support our customers with the applications, products and technical questions. The System Drives Global Sales Competence Manager, is responsible for driving and enhancing the sales competencies in our global Sales organization to improve our sales success and enable superior customer experience. In this role, you will create the overall System Drives Division sales competence strategy and roadmap for ABB, partner sales personnel and drive this implementation with the local sales units. You will also facilitate the development of innovative and impactful learning experience to enhance the effectiveness of our training delivery. Lead and manage a holistic global learning framework. Build structures and processes in learning and competence development that support continuous and agile learning. You will report to the Head of Sales Excellence – System Drives. The ideal candidate is located in Finland, Switzerland, Poland or the United States. Willingness to travel is required (around 20%).

Your responsibilities
  • Actively follow new methods and tools that can be used for competence development purposes as well as track competitive landscape and industry benchmark
  • Create the Division sales competence development strategy. Align with Division direction and strategy, and other divisions and functions.
  • Drive sales competence development for our global sales force in the regions and large country sales units. And for our channel partners.
  • In close collaboration with the Sales Units and regional sales, follow up local competence development and needs. And initiate actions to drive key competencies.
  • Actively monitor sales competencies in the LSUs and at our partners
  • Develop and manage a holistic global learning framework and learning solutions that support our strategic priorities
  • Setup processes and tools to support competence management, as well as tracking progress in competence development.
  • Define and maintain training structure and content. Ensure training offering is available for our customers and partners.
  • Identify new training needs and requirements for new courses, covering needs to technical-, segment-, application-, commercial- and process- skills
  • Drive global marketing communication activities, to increase awareness and interest in competence development and training offering
  • Ownership of the System Drives Sales Excellence Forum
  • Your background
  • University degree in Marketing, Sales or Learning and Development with a strong technical understanding. Or University degree in Engineering background with further education or experience in Marketing and Sales.
  • Experience in Training Management or Competence Development.
  • Strong business background with deep knowledge in Sales.
  • Knowledge of Drives products, industry segments, key applications and sales processes is an advantage.
  • Experience on driving and leading sales improvement programs on a global level. (From Strategy definition to local implementation.)
  • Experience of Change Management in global complex organizations.
  • Experience in leading an organization without formal authority.
  • Strong networking capabilities.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages is considered an advantage.
