Additional DescriptionResponsibilities:
Represent Aftersales within the global vehicle development process (GVDP) framework on programs in the Advance Vehicle Development Center (AVDC) to communicate and implement strategies to improve vehicle serviceability and avoid warranty/dealer costs. (Advanced Serviceability of Design)
Provide input into the development of program service requirements.

Best Practices
Participate in the Global Subsystem Leadership Team (GSSLT), Product Development Team (PDT), and Compartment Integration Team (CIT) meetings to emphasize serviceability requirements and limit the need for new essential tools.
Develop Global ASD Validation Plans for Vehicle Systems
Represent Aftersales in Engineering Peer Reviews
Identify, document, address or escalate serviceability issues as appropriate.

Business Case Development
Escalate through PRTS+
Support sourcing activities; Stakeholder Meetings, Statement of Requirements (SOR) development, Technical Reviews, and supplier selection.
Support the use of existing/already released Global Special Tools. Minimize the development of new essential special tools.
Facilitate Simultaneous Release of service parts in the Product Engineering System (GPDS) at the required Global Aftersales milestones.
Coordinate with regional Aftersales Engineers to develop Global Service Part Determination Criteria (GSPDC) for vehicle systems
Develop and provide a SSSP (Sub System Service Plan) to Product Engineering that includes all serviceable components, kits, and/or assemblies, based off of the Global Service Part Determination Criteria (GSPDC) for Corporate Common Components (CCC).
Complete Service Determination (SDC) in GPDS.
Review Engineering Work Orders for aftersales impacts (including Interchangeability and Stock Disposition) and document Change Management (GPDS/ECM) information for differences in design (Fit, Form, Function, and Finish) in GPDS.
Coordinate with Aftersales Program Readiness Manager (APRM) on advanced vehicle development activities.
Facilitate Global Sub-System Leadership Team (GSSLT) and Technical Specialist (TS) review of Owner's manual information and Gold Source Maintenance information.
Facilitate/Support Cost of Ownership and benchmarking activities.
Develop and Maintain Global Mechanical Service Information Diagnostic and Inspection/Adjustment procedure templates.
Identify and support development of Dealer Technician training for new technologies.
Develop Sub System Service Plans (SSSPs) for New Technology/Advanced Technology Work (ATW) projects.
Support CCA Marketing Initiatives and Material technical reviews and Service Manual and Service Bulletin development, as required.
Provide support to other groups, as requested.
Represent Aftersales for Mechanical commodities within the Advanced Vehicle Development Center program(s)
Document Advanced Serviceability/Warranty Cost Avoidance Issues
Develop Sub System Service Plans (SSSPs) for New Technology/Advanced Technology Work (ATW) projects & Corporate Common Components (CCC)

Qualifications:
High level interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others on a global basis.
Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to product and aftersales engineering.
Working knowledge of service practices and procedures
High level of oral and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in vehicle systems
Understanding of mechanical/electrical engineering theory and principles of operation.
BS in Engineering or Automotive Technology or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Power BI.
