    Job Description

    The GM Energy organization is commercializing world class energy products and solutions that enable GM's all electric future and the cost effective, efficient, and reliable adoption of electric vehicles. These include energy infrastructure assets (such as energy storage and integrated charging systems) vehicle-to-grid capabilities and software platforms needed to operate and aggregate these assets on the grid.

    We are seeking to hire a Business Operations Lead to join the GM Energy Assets team. Key responsibilities of the role require the team member to lead specific front and back-office workstreams to support the commercialization of new commercial and industrial (C&I) product launches on-time, on-budget, and in a customer focused manner.

    This position reports to the Business Operations Manager.

    Responsibilities

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and supporting teams, lead one or more of the following cross-functional workstreams to support the launch of a GM's next generation hydrogen fuel-cell powered mobile DC fast charger :
  • Sourcing support
  • Scheduling and Ordering
  • Warehousing
  • Shipping
  • Deployment coordination
  • Customer experience (Service), including self-service portal
  • Product documentation
  • Warranty processing, tracking, management, and terms
  • Billing & Key Performance Indicator tracking
  • Enable issue resolution across teams to ensure product(s) launch per quality, time, and cost targets
  • Support supplier or contract manufacturer contract negotiations, including but not limited to development of State of Work (SOW), Division of Responsibilities matrices (RASIC), and terms & conditions.
  • Develop new tools, implement processes, provide feedback, and work with peers and other leaders to ensure continuous improvement of business operations
  • Maintain awareness of and identify procurement activities within the Energy Assets team which require expediting or leadership assistance to facilitate processing.
  • Liaise w/ Purchasing & Supply Chain and others to maintain awareness of manufacturing capacity planning.
  • Provide regular cadence of clear updates to leadership, to ensure awareness of progress including flagging areas of cost/schedule/technical risks.
  • Support evaluation of construction methods to determine cost-effectiveness of plans and optimize value-engineering opportunities

  • Required Skills / Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering, supply chain, purchasing, or operations field required
  • Prior experience managing a product launch from start to finish including process and documentation creation
  • Prior experience evaluating and/or managing contract manufacturer(s)
  • Basic familiarity with electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVSE) and prior experience launching EVSE products is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven track record of efficiently executing complex projects to completion at a high level of quality.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
  • Desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and to bring an innovation mindset. Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.
  • Highly proficient in oral and written communication skills.
  • PMP certification or formal training in project management principles is a plus.
  • Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Office, including familiarity with MS Project.
  • Willing to travel 20-30% of the time, as necessary to execute responsibilities of the position.
