Location: Concord, NC

GM's Motorsports Software team analyzes, defines, and delivers next generation groundbreaking Motorsports IT software solutions. Using both innovative cloud- based infrastructure and software development standards, these solutions enable innovative interactions between GM Global Engineering, GM Motorsports, and our Race teams that accelerate our drivers to the finish line first! Our combined team of analysts, architects, developers, data engineers, testers, and project managers work with GM Motorsports Engineering and Race teams to ensure podium wins for GM's NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA sportscar teams!

Job Summary:

This position requires an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The Operations Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting all IT operations for motorsports. This includes providing on-site weekend support during the racing season. This is a fast-paced environment, and we are adding new services on a weekly basis. This role will be an integral part of that workflow, ensuring we support and monitor those new services. The role will play a key part in making sure the entire Motorsports SaaS platform is sitting on solid ground.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work rotating weekends to provide race support
  • Support GM written or commercially packaged applications used in the motorsports business
  • Utilize your experience and problem-solving capabilities to quickly resolve issues and meet agreed-upon SLAs
  • Oversee end-to-end availability of all application and infrastructure components
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Image machines on demand as needed
  • Design and utilize procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Responsible for supporting all IT needs of the facility
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 5 years experience in technical IT function
  • 3+ years experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work items appropriately
  • 3+ years experience of systems support
  • 3+ years experience of helpdesk ticketing systems
  • Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS
  • Experience with application operations and a strong team player
  • Experience in problem-solving, troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis
  • Understands processes well and is committed to customer satisfaction
  • Position is ONLY located in Concord, NC
