LDT is in search of a Global Manufacturing Sytems (GMS) Lead. The GMS Lead will play a crucial part in LDT's GMS Initiative for the plant in conjunction with principal champions and SMEs. The GMS Lead will train, teach, coach, and communicate GMS processes with leaders and team members throughout LDT. This role is primarily a first shift role but may require OT as needed.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage process improvement projects
Responsible for the development and standardization of critical GMS project initiatives focused on sharing best implementation practices
Support GMS Principal Champions in establishing annual plans, facilitating basketweave meetings and ensuring progress through regular reviews
Establish local facility GMS plan with Staff, monitor achievements and establish course correction and support where necessary
Provide leadership role in transitioning plant to GMS Next
Assist leadership in developing key people to become local experts in GMS initiatives/elements
Develops and monitors planning timetables
Define systemic issues that require project management implementation techniques of GMS elements to achieve business results
Develop project plans that will move an organization from current condition to future state based on a critical roadmap and key milestones
Communicate and train leadership within a facility on tools to identify strengths and weakness of organization
Lead departmental coordinators through implementation activities
Monitor progress of internal & external GMS calibration status and coach organization to achieve improvements through implementation plans
Select, develop and deliver GMS training packages for all levels of the organization including new hire orientation, TL training, SWE, etc.
Uses and promotes "Go and See" to support roll out of GMS tools on the floor
Coordinate the activities of the GMS Core team
Participates in monthly Global/NA basketweave calls
Facilitates the GMS Steering Committee
Support CIP workshops
Support Layered Audit Process
Required Qualifications:
Experience managing and/or working on a shop floor in a union environment
GMS/Lean training or implementation experience
Experience managing process improvement projects
Highly developed oral and written communications skills
Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to developing training, presentations and SharePoint
Ability to manage multiple difficult projects/assignments with a high level of autonomy and be held accountable for results
Ability to build relationships and strong teams
Working knowledge of the National and Local agreements
Ability to analyze business processes for improvement in development, deployment, understanding, and effectiveness
Ability to travel minimally for training or support
Ability to work off shift/OT as needed (primarily first shift role)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience working in a BIQIV Assembly Facility
Experience utilizing GMS Lean Practices to achieve results
Ability to read a site and identify key GMS tools and techniques that can be implemented to change both behaviors and business metrics
Capable of training any of the 5 GMS principles and the supporting elements at multiple levels of the organization
Shop floor team coaching experience with Business Plan Deployment, Problem Solving, Standardized Work, WPO and Continuous Improvement activities
Manufacturing GMS experience in various positions, including supervision
