Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be on-site on average 3 days per week

The Role

Ensure parts are available by the Material Required Date (MRD) for all Assembly Plant MVB events & purchased parts are available for MRD's.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and review program specific plans encompassing Assembly Plant tasks
  • Verify orders and material requirements are issued to all suppliers
  • Communicate program requirements to suppliers
  • Communicate to Purchasing parts requiring contracts, prioritized by build events
  • Identify suppliers that are not EDI Certified, provide details to OpenText and send out letters to Suppliers.
  • Create shortage reports to identify material exceptions and follow-up with respective suppliers and program teams.
  • Facilitate communication between functional stakeholders
  • Assist in resolving any Assembly Plant identified material issue s
  • Publish Material Availability “Status Report” for Assembly Plants
  • Collaborate with Material Launch Manager on status of parts for MRD for PQRR meetings and communicate within Global
  • Additional Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years working experience in Materials, Supply Chain, logistics and/or related experience required
  • Ability to lead and facilitate workgroups and meetings
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Confidence in presenting to program teams and in leading cross functional discussions
  • Proactive initiative in making decisions and escalating when appropriate
  • Independent judgment and a self-starter
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Handles pressure tactfully and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • High level of analytical / problem solving capabilities
  • Strong skills using computer software (Microsoft based)

  • Production Order Management & Scheduling (POMS)
  • Material Globalization Optimization (MGO)
  • Global Purchasing Systems (GPS)
  • Global Product Description System (GPDS)
  • Supply Quality Management System (SQMS)
  • Engineering Change Management (ECM)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the processes associated with PTR, PPAP and MGO-A breakpoint establishment
  • Functional knowledge of ECM, SQMS, GPS, MGO and PRTS
