Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial transportation. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in- class hardware and software product development, and operational excellence to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users - from action sports enthusiasts to first responders to insurance claims adjusters.

About the Team:

  • We are in constant collaboration with many other teams within Skydio such as product design, electrical engineering, RF engineering, embedded software, and others.
  • We are constantly leveraging the expertise of other team members and supporting each other to achieve the highest quality work.
  • We believe in having the right tools for the job! We have invested in in- house tooling and are constantly expanding our capabilities.
  • About the role:

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented electromechanical problem solver to help support the bringup and launch of a fleet of intelligent aerial vehicles that will bring the power and sophistication of truly autonomous flight to a very broad audience.

    How you'll make an impact:

  • Technical and operational support in the bringup, testing, analysis, and maintenance of flying robots and related equipment
  • Support subsystem testing with a core focus on PCBA rework and electrical troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to identify and resolve system issues through all stages of production, from initial prototyping through mass production
  • Diagnose and correct electromechanical system failures and malfunctions both independently and as a collaborative member of the product engineering team
  • What makes you a good fit:

  • Strong hands-on technical skills, including soldering, and demonstrated ability to work on 0201 size components under a microscope. Good debug skills using tools like a multimeter.
  • Understanding of PCBA fabrication, SMT process, and electrical component selection. Ability to trace out circuits on PCBs and modify PCBAs using skills like drilling and cutting traces, routing hook up wiring, and replacing components.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills
  • Solid computer skills including documentation, web research, and executing linux commands.
  • Attention to detail during assembly - ability to identify and propose solutions for issues as they arise.
