Description

As a Product/ Business leader, this position acts as a trusted advisor to key decision makers by learning about the partner organization, advising on solutions, and positioning GM product offerings, as well as prioritizes technical trends and opportunities for impact for prioritized Partners. Finally, this leader generates business insights to inform strategic planning and leverages teams in gathering insights to address client business challenges, requiring collaboration across multiple teams at GM to optimize the product solution development and co-sell success.

In this organization, the other main functions will be to address tremendous opportunity to drive impact for GM and the broader industry by bringing ideas to life through business case proposals.

This position will require a strong, strategic and collaborative leader to take a step back, look left-to-right across the broad enterprise portfolio to identify, pitch and drive the next wave of prioritization decisions. This role will have consistent and frequent communications with GM senior executives, and a close enterprise engagement with our industry partners. This function will build and lead a team of rock star product planners who are experts in strategic thinking, analytics, exec communication and delivering results.

Remote: The position can be performed remotely most of the time, but the employee may be asked to come on-site approximately four times per year.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop business cases for new frameworks, success definition and product investment, and pitch to GM's most senior executive team for guidance and approvals

  • Work with senior executives in Engineering, Technical, and commercial organizations to foster collaboration, alignment and drive positive business and product outcomes

  • Look across all levers of the business including but not limited to inorganic moves, business model innovation, product development and product marketing strategies

  • Lead the opportunity to drive material impact to GM, our customers, and partners

  • Acts as a thought leader for synthesizing and combining various and often conflicting business insights across all teams and business units, global best practices, proof points from product experience across multiple countries and regions

  • Broad and deep industry expertise related to customers/partners and their competitors to conduct forecasting and develop recommendations for managing the most prominent, high impact, and/or challenging partner accounts

  • Evaluate consistent opportunities to gain new product experiences, learn, grow, and advance the business journey

  • Expands GM relationships with large, complex, and/or global partners into strategic partnerships, and leads the adoption of cutting-edge technologies by plotting the strategic, long-term vision of the customer's/partner's business strategy and driving action to bring to fruition.

  • Ensures execution of technology strategy and digital transformation by anticipating and/or leading the resolution of technical blockers that arise during strategy planning and implementation; and driving technology adoption.

  • Work as a team leader to create an inclusive environment where trust and shared perspectives are rewarded

  • Work as a bridge between the sales and the technology domain, while ensuring the products have an effective roadmap and evolution path

  • Required Core Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years working in a Carrier/Telco operator/vendor Environment
  • Automotive background either OEM and/or IOT working relationships
  • Knowledge and working experience with Cloud Service Providers, Global Build-outs and Connected Vehicles Services & Products
  • Able to create complex Business Cases, Business Plans, Pricing, Margin Analysis, Competitive Landscape
  • Product Manager experience, business and technology experience
  • Engineering background(Network/ Systems), and wrote code in career
  • Launched a Connected Car Product, and negotiated Contracts with an OEM
