HR M&A Manager

The HR M&A Manager supports the HR workstream for M&A projects from kickoff
until inte-gration, in close collaboration with Business HR, HR Services,
Corporate M&A and other functions. As part of the Corporate HR M&A team, the
HR M&A Manager also contributes to developing HR best practices, tools and
processes for all types of M&A transactions and to providing M&A related
training for the wider HR community. The HR M&A Manager uses previous
experience, in-depth knowledge of processes and policies and business insights
to support making strategic decisions. We are looking to recruit a strategic
global HR M&A professional with demonstrated subject matter expertise and
solid, applied experience in different types of deals to support the people
aspects surrounding our M&A projects.
Your responsibilities
The HR M&A Manager will join several projects across the globe to:
Ensure optimal collaboration between the divisions, external consultants,
HR colleagues, other functions, buyer or seller and the deal team. Support
the creation of workplans & timelines and verify separa-tion/integration
budget requirements.
Advise HRBPs about what to expect, the stakeholders, the M&A process and
priorities and play a key role as the HR Expert in making strategic
decisions (Target Operation Models, HRIS & Payroll setup, em-ployee
matters, budget, change management, integration, purchase agreements, due
diligence …), by keeping the best interest of ABB and the
acquired/divested unit in mind.
Deep dive into all HR related topics, including but not limited to: labor
law, benefits, compensation, HR governance, HRIS, payroll, pensions,
culture, communication, GDPR, talent acquisition and people de-velopment.
Analyze the separation/ harmonization/ integration approach, prepare for
HR risks and cost assessments including mitigation strategies.
Advise on retention/performance grants, key talent approach and ensure
that ABB HR policies and pro-cedures are followed.
As a member of the HR M&A team, the HR M&A Manager will furthermore work
on:
Developing optimized M&A processes in cooperation with HR organization,
Corporate M&A, cross func-tional teams (IS, FI, Real Estate, SCM etc),
ensuring related materials reflect organizational changes in ABB.
Developing training materials and a tool/process database which can used
during projects.
Keeping an eye on trends and evolutions in HR M&A.
Your background
Minimum 5 years of experience in HR M&A, either as HRBP, Manager or
project manager.
Solid track record in working for a global organization
Solid understanding of HR processes/policies and how they need to be
managed throughout M&A projects.
Excellent project management skills, promoting a structured but flexible
approach.
Ability to manage a variety of stakeholders and convincing communication,
relationship building and influencing skills.
Business acumen and a passion for M&A.
Pragmatic problem solver, keeping short and long term impact of decisions
in mind.
Advanced knowledge of English, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint/Teams.
Flexible to work in different time zones.
