Job Description
We are looking for someone interested in challenging perceptions and pushing the boundaries of Interior Design into exciting new directions. As an Interior Designer, your role is to see the future - researching, designing and creating compelling proposals.
Building on a strong understanding brand and strategy, you will generate innovative ideas and interior design concepts for automotive products in both 2D and 3D proposals. You will have experience in working through the design process from the sketch form to the final release clay / data model. You must have exceptional visualization skills and can easily communicate your ideas to an audience. You have no problem refining ideas as you receive feedback. Working as part of a team you interface with multiple creative and non- creative stakeholders including suppliers to execute ideas and deliver world class products.
You have a passion for design, innovation and are highly creative as demonstrated in your portfolio. You will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant design discipline (Automotive Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Exterior Design, Graphic Design or Architecture). You have a minimum 3 years of experience in automotive design, with experience in the advanced side of the process.
You're driven and eager to propel your career forward. A self-starter, your sophisticated communication skills will enable you to effortlessly build relationships. You must have a willingness to learn and grow as a designer. Comfortable in dealing with potential changes in direction based on evolving design directions, you thrive in a team environment and display a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Work duties involve a considerable amount of perception, design taste, judgment and creativity as well as a definite degree of skill, accuracy, and coordination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Generating compelling perspective sketches and renderings sufficient to communicate new design ideas
Demonstrated understanding of 3D form and ability to develop three- dimensional models of proposed design solutions
Work with studio engineers, modelers, other designers, and service and fabrication personnel in the development of new ideas in both two and three-dimensional form
Make presentations of new thoughts and designs, both orally and visually
Frequent contact with cross functional partners outside the work group
Experience working with Premium brands is a plus
Have a proven ability as an inspiring and collaborative team member
Strong organizational and communication skills
IT ability in relevant software – Photoshop, Alias, VRED, Blender, Office suite
Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires employee to be onsite 3x per week.

You will be responsible for delivering interior design proposals working with a team of modellers and designers. You will need to inspire and manage your team to create the best possible proposals under the necessary cost and timing restraints.
