As a Launch Project Planner, responsibilities will include coordinating standard activities to ensure flawless execution of a new launch; including project timing, launch training, manpower planning, and communication.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for regular updates of the Launch Wall using MS Project

  • Support section owners in the Launch Wall update process

  • Coordinate updates on a weekly basis, based on Functional Owner input (all functions)

  • Maintain regular contact with others outside the work group

  • Post the updated file for Launch Team review

  • Present Virtual Wall and supporting documentation during Launch Wall reviews

  • Distribute Launch Wall meeting notices and agenda

  • Develop, analyze, and present project information

  • Coordinate Launch Team technical and GMS training with input from Launch Team

  • Assist with manpower planning for all phases of a launch

  • Assist with general launch communication

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of launch experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years commitment to project

  • Demonstrated MS Project experience

  • High level of oral and written communication skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

  • Knowledge of functional relations within plant or division

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes

  • Knowledge of work measurement techniques

  • Highly organized and self-directed

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated familiarity with GMS principals

  • Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering and project timing

  • Process knowledge of engine manufacturing

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and other applications

  • Minimum 5 years with GM
