The Role:

Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products!

The Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing about 3-5 salaried and 3-5 hourly employees within the electrical team. They would be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations around launch activities and working on Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO). You will use substantial independent judgment in complex or unusual situations. Your responsibility will involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.

What You'll Do:

  • Be a member of the plant's Electrical Team - an integrated, technical organization consisting of members from Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality and Product Development organizations passionate about problem solving the plant's top external and internal quality problems.
  • Take ownership of electrical processes for launching vehicle program, driving all electrical problems to resolution, including plant defects and engineering-related issues.
  • Lead the Launch Electrical Process Coordinator, Launch Electrical Wiring Coordinator, and Launch Electrical Diagnosticians
  • Ensure compliance to the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO), particularly the Launch Aid standards covered in BoO Element 314
  • Complete required training at various sites around GM and suppliers. (Travel is required in this role)
  • Participate in applicable launch activities such as virtual, prototype, and validation builds to support plant readiness
  • Host/support In-Plant Wiring Harness Assessments (WHA 4) and lead disconnect workshops during launch to develop database for repair faults
  • Effectively transfer key findings to and from other Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP) launches at other GM

    Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience working within the Automotive Manufacturing space, electrical/wiring experience preferred
  • Some experience and exposure to leading/mentoring non-represented and/or represented employees in a Plant setting
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and innovative with a strong analytical ability
  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience with automotive electrical sub-systems
  • Detailed knowledge of GMS and supporting BIQ4 Deliverables
