In this role you will oversee a medium sized group of salary Paint Process Engineers. This group works to ensure all paint processes are maintained and running effectively for vehicle production.
You will be responsible for problem solving through analyzing data, determining root cause, develop and implement plans that resolve issues that are affecting paint shop quality.
Supervise all assigned direct paint process personnel and oversee paint suppliers who are working on site.
Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve operations by reducing cost, reducing energy usage, and improving our product quality.
You will be expected to keep abreast of current product developments and trends in the areas of paint expertise.
Most understand and execute PFEMA, process control plans, manufacturing processes and related systems.
Directly responsible for maintaining the world class paint appearance of the Chevrolet Corvette
Technical degree required or equivalent experience
A minimum of five years paint shop experience is required
Proven technical and professional skills in manufacturing
Knowledge of Automotive Paint Process areas (PTED, Topcoat and Paint Mix Room)
Knowledge of Fanuc Robots, Paint Pro Software, and Versabell III
