The Role
This position is responsible for procuring transportation (Truckload, Less Than Truckload, Rail, Intermodal, Ocean, Air, and Small Parcel) services for shipment of dealer service parts within North America. There is a high degree of interaction with the external supply base of these services, as well as internal communication to ensure that sourcing requirements are met. The primary objective of the position is to procure the best possible transportation solutions, at the lowest rates and most favorable terms.
What You'll Do
Analyze, negotiate, and procure rates, terms and conditions for the transportation of dealer service parts and related services
Complete legal documentation (contracts, rate appendices, amendments & agreements)
Comply with purchasing and audit guidelines, processes, and procedures
Work cross-functionally to resolve issues
Monitor and assesses carrier performance and provide input regarding continued use
Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions. Removing Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.Communicates within the function as well as other functions, external affiliates, regulatory agencies.
Responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers
Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
