Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be on-site on average 3 days per week

The Role

You will be responsible for logistics data mining, planning, engineering, purchasing and daily operations for the material shipments to assembly, component plants and warehouse locations domestically and/or globally.

This position will be responsible for performing strategic network design analysis and providing optimization recommendations related to the GM aftersales logistics network through analytics. This role will work within IT but will work cross functionally throughout Supply Chain, Warehousing and Logistics (SCWL), with primary focus on optimizing costs, customer improvements, product flows through data, analytics and engineering.

This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and analyzing big data activities within Power BI and support and running what-if simulations within the GM aftersales logistics network. We are looking for someone with both strong quantitative and analytical skills, who can take what they learn from the data and drive cost savings initiatives. You will need a strong business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively cross functionally including but not limited to our senior leadership. Candidate must have a proven track record of taking the initiative, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and leading change.

What You'lll Do

  • Responsible for logistics engineering, data analytics, project management, and generation of strategic cost savings initiatives using statistical analysis within Power BI.

  • Perform analytical work: Power BI Report Generation, writing SQL and VBA code and generating insight from data.

  • Generating new ideas and initiatives that optimize cost and customer service levels within the Supply Chain, Warehousing and Logistics organizations

  • Managing cross functional value optimization and Power BI projects from idea conception to project implementation.

  • Collaborate with IT and enterprise business owners to prioritize recommendations and opportunities in support of logistics initiatives. This will entail managing system and business constraints, while balancing current vs future process improvements.

  • Lead and support the team in producing logistics value optimization recommendations

  • Subject matter expert with logistics systems and processes to assist all cross-functional senior leadership in understanding and improving the overall CCA network.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (required)

  • Expert running analysis in Power BI (required)

  • 5+ years of work experience within Supply Chain (required)

  • Knowledge of data mining/analytics, logistics engineering, and tool creation (required)

  • Network wide knowledge of transportation, demand and inventory planning, warehousing operations, order fulfillment, distribution, and supplier performance.

  • Expert in logistics processes, logistics optimization, and end to end supply chain management best practices

  • Experience gathering and interpreting complex quantitative and qualitative data using statistical analysis methods, and able to develop tools for root causing and interpreting supply chain management processes

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in network design software, algorithms, and statistical analysis

  • Understanding of logistics finance principles and reporting

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (preferred)

  • Experience in advanced programming (preferred)
