Description

As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for leading and organizing the chemicals, indirect, maintenance, and general stores material handling team to safely perform their daily operation and project related activities within the target cost, drive continuous improvement, and act against performance deviation using Global Manufacturing System and Lean Material Strategy tools.

The responsibilities for this position are broken down as follows: Local, Regional and Global:

Local (95%)

  • Ensure the engagement of operators in the achievement of the Business Plan Deployment targets in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment, according to a standardized process using GMS tools.
  • Ensure full compliance with GM safety and environmental standards, conduct regular tour and assessments.
  • Review area score card, participate and/or lead the daily operations meetings to track key business results, manage changes and act on deviations with the suitable problem-solving tools.
  • Oversee receiving, put away, and issuing of materials according to procedure and ensure accurate records reflection on SAP.
  • Ensure accurate material records through regular cycle count process, variance analysis and reconciliation according to plan and within target.
  • Plan and conduct continuous improvement workshop for packaging, storage space, handling and lifting equipment, and manpower best utilization.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure process compliance with local and global procedures, GMS elements, ISO standards, and Internal Controls requirements with the function.
  • Coordinate requirements and track performance of mobile equipment, lift assists, and power tools with facility team.
  • Support chemical and processing materials packaging/containers design reviews and buy-off for internal, local, and overseas packaging.
  • Participate on updating, validation, and full compliance for the processing & indirect materials Plan for Every Part.
  • Conduct time study through the GM standard time tool and improve equipment and labor utilization.
  • Report Min/Max violations, slow moving items, and area key performance indicators on regular basis.
  • Represent the function in various activities or committees as required
  • Regional & Global (5%)

  • Learn and share best practices from/with regional SMEs and function leads
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Minimum of one year experience in the industrial field, preferred in material handling, supply chain operations/planning, warehousing, production, industrial or manufacturing engineering
  • Previous experience in chemical and indirect (MRO) materials handling is a plus
  • Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or any related filed
  • Lean-six sigma, CPIM and/or PMP is a plus
