Description

As a Mechanical Process Engineer, you will work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. This person will be skilled in equipment/ tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Understand mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of the electrical and mechanical aspects of equipment and tools required for the production of machining.
  • Manage installation of various projects.
  • Program/site support troubleshooting, diagnosis of equipment malfunctions etc.
  • Support the TIP (Throughput Improvement process) Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support business team in Business Plan Deployment (BPD) process.

    Qualifications:

  • Engineering/Technical Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in technical knowledge of Mechanical/control systems and ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC's machines and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in reading CMM data and making Machine adjustments.
  • Knowledge of servo motors, motion control and drives.
  • Experience in Fanuc controllers and Machine tool programming.
  • Ability to use interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and learn new systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance processes/procedures as well as quality control and environmental procedures.
  • Ability to learn new skills, and coach / Mentor others on Mechanical and Control related issues, using a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work 1st shift, weekends as needed.
  • Experience in the following Machine Architectures:

  • Reading CMM reports, PLC programs - Reading CMM reports, PLC programs
  • Qualifying Machines, PPAP/CPK quality standards
  • CNC Machine Operation
  • Troubleshooting
  • Servo motor: Allen Bradley / Siemens / Fanuc
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of Referencing X, Y, Z, B, A and ATC axis
  • Knowledge of Replacing ball screws
