Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform effectively. This role enables the employee to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.
We are seeking a software engineer to advance engineering products in our GM IndyCar and NASCAR programs. You will work with teams and end users to ensure that a consistent product is provided and maintained such that the race teams can rely on GM provided tools to improve the performance of their race cars and optimize the execution of race events. Modern technology should always be monitored and implemented where improved scalability and performance of the software tools can be realized.
Role responsibilities:
Contribute as part of the team that designs, implements, tests, and maintains during the full lifecycle of the software application development
Write code that is efficient, reusable, and reliable
Work closely with teams to perform software architecture assessments and prepare user documentation to collect all requirements and implement them accurately
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field
Highly analytical, customer-oriented, and structured, with excellent relationship and communicative skills
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and current best coding practices
5+ years of post-graduate, industry software development experience developing Web Apps
5+ years of experience developing applications in Angular (or React), .NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Knowledge in consuming and implementing REST APIs (ASP.NET Core Web APIs)
Experience with Unit Tests (NUnit or xUnit or Moq)
Skilled in using Git for version control, DevOps (ideal Azure Dev Ops) and CI/CD practices for agile environments Preferred:
Involvement working with IndyCar or NASCAR teams, or from other motorsports series
Azure Cloud Computing and Dockers
SQL databases (SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (CosmosDB or MongoDB)
Real time communication technologies (SignalR or gRPC)
