About The Role:

We are currently looking for you to take on the role of Operating Engineer – 2nd Class at our CAMI Assembly plant. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining gas fired boilers, large centrifugal and reciprocating air compressors, head exchangers, water softeners, chilled water systems, cooling towers, wastewater systems, high quality water systems, and/or other related equipment found in an industrial powerhouse.

What We Are Looking For:

The ability to:

  • Operate and maintain high pressure steam boilers

  • Operate and maintain low and high pressure steam systems

  • Operate equipment to support various production units including pumps, air compressors, cooling towers, water treatment systems, gas systems, HVAC and a waste water treatment facility

  • Perform chemical analysis on process water and adjust systems to maintain operations, including handling of reagents, chemicals and chemical injection systems

  • Provide isolation, lockouts on utility systems and process equipment

  • Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment

  • Operate in accordance with all applicable procedures, policies and regulations

  • What Makes You An Ideal Fit:

  • 2nd Class Operating Engineering certification

  • Experience as a 2nd Class Operating engineer

  • Independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from a supervisor.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment

  • Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills.

  • Qualifications:

  • 2nd Class Operating Engineering certification

  • Successful candidates will be required to attest to their vaccination status (or indicating that they do not wish to disclose), and any job offer will be conditional on the candidate providing that attestation.

  • Each team works a pattern of 12 hour shifts for four continuous weeks, then one week of eight hour maintenance relief shifts.

  • The 12 hour shifts are split into day shifts and night shifts in a pre- determined shift pattern.
