Position
Dedrone is seeking to recruit a U.S. Operations Manager to join its Sterling,
VA team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years' experience in
operations or in tasks supporting Engineering, Sales, or Service & Support in
administrative or Supply Chain Management (“SCM”) matters. The U.S.
Operations Manager will initially be responsible for managing core SCM,
logistics and asset control functions for U.S. activities. The role interfaces
with all U.S. organizations in operational matters while also engaging with
the team in Germany to coordinate with process development, systems and
tooling as well as reporting. The role enables high flexibility through
effective process design while balancing enforcing compliance of those
processes and working strongly with Operations in Germany and the global
Finance team. Longer term, Dedrone aims to engage with suppliers to have
custom designed systems built and the hired individual will also manage these
structures. The position reports into the organization of the Chief Operating
Officer and will be managed by the Director of Operation's in Germany.
Responsibilities
Primary duties:
Develop and establish process structure and tooling support for 3rd party
component procurement with respect to technically predefined material for
Dedrone U.S. (to be done jointly with German Operations)
Run defined process hands-on to ensure SCM for material based on an agreed
purchase and production ramp
Document above process with respect to the “how to” guide for the
supported organizations as well as for process execution to enable support
and back-up structure
Build and maintain a reporting structure to enable visibility of supply
chain status and potential risks or delays
Interface with global Finance (reporting, invoicing, payments, etc.) as
needed
Create and manage effective asset control with respect to key assets
provided to customers throughout demo cycles, POCs and final sales by
means of:
Handling all shipment cycles (FedEx, UPS, etc.) including managing the
respective Dedrone accounts
Active control and recording of (key) material received and / or sent
Driving improvements and proactive screening of data consistency (jointly
with Finance and German Operations)
Establish and run a 3rd party RMA and repair process for defined key
components
Provide bi-weekly 3rd party RMA / repair status
Extend workbench and EMS suppliers with the following as Dedrone's product
portfolio expands:
Participate in setup of operational (planning and execution) structure
with suppliers
Provide forecast as derived from Dedrone's Salesforce CRM
Trigger shipments as required and maintain aligned inventory count
Prepare and organize supplier feedback
Drive ongoing process and data quality and improvements
Assist with light office administrative functions, such as ordering
supplies
Assist with global ERP implementation
Other:
Occasional travel to U.S. suppliers and German office required from time
to time
Initial training will require travel to Germany
Background
Past experience interfacing with Engineering or Sales vs. administrative
processes and resolving potential speed-cost-process compliance-
flexibility
Prior experience working with other teams globally (including significant
time zone differences)
BA, SCM or production planning or similar professional background
preferred
Prior experiences with hardware and operating in a small company strongly
desired
Solid skills in use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
Salesforce and NetSuite experiences are desired
Independent, self-organized work style with flexibility to handle peak
work-load is a must have
Must have U.S. citizenship
