In this role, you will be leading the manufacturing and molding operations teams, driving efficient and cost-effective production results in accordance with quality and service targets. You will work closely with the EHS, engineering, maintenance, and materials leaders and teams. You will be self- motivated and will use your expertise in driving lean production techniques, EHS activities, and planning/controlling of systems to enhance value to the organization.

Your responsibilities
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Creates an environment which is responsive to satisfying customer needs.
  • Develops a functional strategic plan which supports the two-year Manufacturing Strategic Plan.
  • Evaluates and recommends allocation of resources necessary to meet the manufacturing plan, e.g., equipment, people and overtime.
  • Develops annual operating budget and controls costs including overhead expenditures related to the manufacturing process, indirect, and direct labor.
  • Communicates and controls significant manufacturing variances against measurement results to plan and recommend appropriate action plan.
  • Executes the master production schedule/MRP relative to price, quality, and delivery.
  • Uses modern manufacturing and quality techniques to ensure that processes are documented.
  • Ensures that operational policies/procedures and management systems are in place.
  • Ensures communication takes places with employees on departmental, plant, and company performance.
  • Partner with engineering and maintenance managers to evaluate production processes, diagnoses potential problems/issues and recommends and/or takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensures that EHS is prioritized including utilization of safety equipment and guarding, Right-to-Know program, and minimization or elimination of hazardous materials.
  • Communicates risk management plan expectations to employees and measures performance to plan.
  • Hires, retains, and develops the operations team to support the strategic manufacturing plan.
  • Sets performance expectations, measures outcomes, and rewards people.
  • Suggests and implements ideas to eliminate waste and continually improve processes.
  • Develops improvements in areas of cost, quality, process, safety, and service to internal and external customers.
  • Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of financial reports, operating budgets, problem solving techniques.
  • Experience with quality and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
