Description

As a Paint Controls Engineer you will be responsible for the operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. You will be required to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems, components and equipment. This work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedures and is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You will have some direct mentorship received from supervisors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical resource for plant electricians and group leaders

  • Supervise project installations by contractors and plant electricians

  • Develop and plan electrical projects

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in mfg. operations

  • Design and modify electrical control circuits and programs as required

  • Support plant continuous improvement activities and projects

  • Experience with manufacturing process equipment, knowledge of system engineering, software development & hardware integration.

  • High level of interpersonal skills with sensitivity to other's points of view & to make contributions to the resolution of complex manufacturing problems

  • Demonstrated ability to listen to & support Team Members

  • Thorough understanding of planned and predictive maintenance and the Maximo system.

  • Thorough understanding of GM Safety policies, specifications, and audit module requirements. This position will require overtime and off-shift production support at times

  • Work in a team environment and work cross functionally with internal and external customers

    Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in paint controls or controls engineering in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience with FANUC is a plus
