Hybrid Work Location:
We believe work-life balance is essential to a team member's success and job satisfaction. This is a hybrid role that allows employees to work offsite but will also require an employee to be onsite an average of three times per week. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the Warren Technical Center Campus which they are assigned as their primary GM facility and may require travel to GM manufacturing sites and equipment manufacturer sites based on project needs.
OVERVIEW :
The Global Propulsion Systems Manufacturing Engineering Maintenance Team is looking for highly motivated, forward thinking, innovative, and self-driven individuals. Our team is responsible for developing robust maintenance systems and processes to maximize machinery and equipment uptime during steady-state operations for all propulsion sectors. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering environment where the highest level of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as the highest level of independent judgement.
Support new program launches by validating maintenance deliverables and ensuring GM specifications and customer expectations are met.
Work cross-functionally to optimize machinery & equipment designs to improve safety, uptime, and ease of maintainability.
Drive down enterprise costs by reducing indirect material spending, unplanned downtime, and increasing lifecycle of machinery & equipment.
Ensures equipment designs meets GM Bill of Equipment requirements, safety & ergonomic requirements, and all related maintenance specifications.
Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and other engineers, both within GPS and with counterparts in other Manufacturing Engineering Centers, to develop common maintenance standards and provide training as required.
Support Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives by investigating and implementing innovative technologies to improve reliability and maintainability of manufacturing equipment.
Assist in spare parts coding activities and support customer interface with Global Business Solutions and Share the Spare Team.
Coach equipment manufacturers in the creation of training aids to support skilled trades such as video and 3D-interactive mediums.
Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing engineering and production facilities where issues are complex or of a high technical content.
Facilitate reviews of lessons learned gathered from new program launches.
Ensure alignment of maintenance expectations between Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
2 years of automotive manufacturing experience with knowledge of plant floor maintenance systems and equipment maintainability initiatives .
Experience with individual and team-based achievements in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with project management.
Knowledge of MFMEA process.
