Working as a Product Engineering Specialist, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in smart power within Electrification Business in Senatobia, Mississippi, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of engineering activities focused on Engineering Change Implementation, Product/Manufacturing Data accuracy, Product Cost Analysis and to serve as the main technical reference for corresponding product Family.

Your responsibilities
  • Reviewing and Implementing engineering changes across products and coordinating the deliverables between cross functional teams
  • Ensuring the manufacturing line has the support required to meet market demand by monitoring output and capacity, verifying line balancing meets the required TAKT, verifying work instructions, and taking a proactive approach to remove barriers that would impede achieving this goal
  • Loading, correcting, and monitoring all data related to respective products using the manufacturing unit's ERP system such a Material Masters, Bill of Materials, Routings and Costing
  • Establishes contacts with suppliers for technical support to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs
  • Work directly with cross functional team to implement, localize and outsource products and manufacturing opportunities
  • The effectiveness of this engineer in the execution of these targets will ensure the support to production that we must offer as a team on a strategical level. This will involve collaboration with multifunctional teams within the facility and international engineering teams across the world
  • Your background
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience is required
  • OR an Associates Degree in Engineering and 4 years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Electromechanical, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar is preferred
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Must be goals oriented, analytic, and methodical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Proficient in Excel Data analysis and Reports
  • Experience in Reading Wiring Diagrams
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
